Others is a boutique located in downtown Fargo, ND. However, Others is different than your typical downtown boutique. This is because everything in the store is sustainable, ethically made, and all of the profits are donated to local and global charities.
My role as an assistant manager covered a wide range of diverse tasks within the business including customer service, photoshoot styling, visual merchandising, branding, inventory management, and e-commerce marketing.
Visual Merchandising
One of my roles at Others is being the Visual Merchandising Leader. I use my creative mind in collaboration with my business mindset to design, budget, and execute our downtown windows in a low-waste sustainable way.
Inventory Management
Customer Service
A big role of my job at Others is Inventory management. I am in charge of updating our e-commerce inventory systems as we process and sell through products. I work to create purchase orders, add/create Stock Keeping Units for new items, and I also delete and manage old inventory as it goes through our store life cycle. This allows for an organized buying, POS, and e-commerce merchandise system.
I lead the team in customer service. I fully understand the brand of Others and how to positively reflect its mission through my customer service skills. I lead the team by setting a good example, communicating efficiently verbally and written, and by being a problem solver when mishaps happen in the store. A large part of our customer service is being able to strongly define slow fashion, fair trade, sustainable manufacturing processes, and how each of our brands contributes and gives back to those in need.
